Journey to the Center of the Earth - Eric Brevig

Ending my little adventure series is this fun film - Journey to the Center of the Earth, directed by Eric Brevig and based on the novel by Jules Verne. It also finishes the tiny Brendan Fraser film fest I was giving myself. I know I have a few of his other films in my collection but this is where we are at now. Stay tuned for more.

This film was also my introduction to Josh Hutcherson, who even as a young kid is quite a good actor. The story is possibly well known enough to not have to go into too much detail. Suffice it to say that Brendan Fraser plays Trevor Anderson who works with Seismology. While he is tasked with taking care of his nephew Sean (Hutcherson) for a couple weeks, he also comes across the discovery of a seismic locator that had been quiet until then. They track that down to Iceland, where they start their journey to the center of the earth - not only following Jules Verne's novel, but also notes written in it by Sean's dad, Trevor's brother. Helping lead them on this journey is Hannah (AnĂta Briem), the daughter of a famous seismologist. Naturally everything ends happily, but it is such a fun adventure through out. There is the excitement of the journey, but also the stunning visuals of what they discover. Truly a fun film.
