The League - Sparkle Theatricals

The League - a Sherlock Holmes inspired interactive theatre work presented by Sparkle Theatricals. This show is everything it is promoted to be. You, the audience, is playing the part of Sherlock Holmes. Via some video messages from Watson, you see that there is a possible heist that may happen at a local art gallery. Along with that, an artist has been commissioned to present a work, but no one at the gallery knows who commissioned them. You can see via security camera footage that someone is dropping off something, but when you get to the art gallery - the artist Jabez states that his art is not on the walls, and doesn't know why.

The show is interactive to a point. You can walk around and look at some of the art on the walls, trying to find clues to the next step. Watson or Jabez may talk to you and ask you questions, you may do the same. There is one piece in particular that is the aim of the heist. In order to prevent that from happening, Watson recommends a decoy is made. So there is some interaction as well of creating this decoy. Again, you can assist, or stand back and enjoy the environment and the story creation.

The show takes place in a large gallery-style space. Because of that there is an element of echo which made some portions of dialogue difficult to understand. But I still got the jist of what was being said and done. There was some great technical work done in the show. It was a great concept and I think they did a great job of working that concept out into reality. All-in-all, it was a super fun experience, and only about an hour long! If you haven't seen a show by Sparkle Theatricals, or have never done an interactive, immersive show - this is a great place to start. It is a very limited run so get those tickets now!
