I just found out that Criterion is releasing...
Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters by Paul Schrader in June. Along with that - they are releasing Patriotism. A film directed and starring Mishima himself. Now...I'm a big fan of the Paul Schrader film - it was another entry for me into the music of Philip Glass, along with the amazing designs of Eiko Ishioka.
I think my entrance into Mishima was - hmmm - probably the David Sylvian song "Forbidden Colours." It got me interested - I believe I read "Confessions of a Mask" and possibly "The Sailor and the Sea." But the film is just so amazing! If you haven't seen it - you need to. After June I'll have a copy available to sell or send/trade you ;-).
